I agree, having life insurance is extremely important, if we care about our beloved ones. But it’s not really important if we do not have anyone depending on us. A lot of people buy life insurance without knowing how much they need. I think the amount should be based on how much your dependents can survive yearly without you around.

Excellent post. I noticed many people don’t want to think about dying so they put off getting life insurance and then forget (out of site out of mind). It’s really heartbreaking when someone you know dies and their family can’t pay the funeral costs.

SHaE-SHaE, that was my sentiment exactly. The stigma surrounding death makes people not want to talk about anything remotely related to it, or pure ignorance on the importance of life insurance. At any rate, it prevents too many people from making the right choices for their family, and getting informed is key.

Agreed, excellent post! If there is one thing that families need to do a better job of is preparing for the inevitable fact that we are all going to die. And when we do, there more than likely will be loved ones left behind with expenses that need to be taken care of. Putting these things off only adds to the heavy burden of your death and your loved ones’ misery.

Thank you for being realistic. Unfortunately, with every birth, death is somewhere waiting.
I just hope more people will consider lifting this particular burden from the backs of grieving families and loved ones left behind.
