Happy New Year! Welcome to 2009
Posted by myideas1 on January 1st, 2009
I love new beginnings. To me, the beginning of a new year has always represented new opportunities. This year, I look forward to embracing this newness with my arms wide open.
In January of last year, I was in Dubai. It is the newest ‘crown jewel’ of the Middle East and a destination known as the “Impossible City.” Who else would dare to build castles on sand or a ski resort in the desert — and even make their own snow? Not only that, they expect the whole world to come and take a gander at all of Dubai’s glory.
One of the billboards I read when I was there stated: “Think Bigger, because thinking big is too small.”
Metro Atlanta is also an “Impossible City” where ripe ideas are still waiting to be plucked from the tree of opportunity. We live in a city that is the ‘crown jewel’ of the South. We live in a city that is much too big to think small.
Thanks to all of my fellow Entrecard members who brought me knowledge, friendship and laughter. Have a healthy and prosperous year.

Happy New Year!!! I love your view about new beginnings and thinking bigger, indeed, with posts about people we need to know, you always offer a new perspective and opportunity we may have not otherwise known and in the process make us think bigger. More power to your blog.
And wow, that aerial picture of Dubai just looks stunning.

Happy New Year!
It’s funny, I really have no desire to go to the Middle East, but if given the chance, I would hop on a plane in no time to go to Dubai! It looks amazing!
Atlanta is also on my list…but the chances of getting there are much better

Dubai is just exhilarating! I really love the ideology behind it! And if America doesn’t watch, new start up countries like Dubai may just surpass their economies in the long run!
