PYNTK Partners with the Spirit of Sweet Auburn

Posted by myideas1 on 1st May 2009

SPRINGFESTBANNER22009.jpgPeople You Need to Know, Inc. (PYNTK), which publishes metro Atlanta’s premier business spotlight publication is teaming up with the Spirit of Sweet Auburn (SOSA) for their 25th Annual Springfest, which attracts hundreds of thousands of attendees during its three-day (May 8-10), yearly event.

The Spirit of Sweet Auburn is an organization that was founded in 2001 by Charles E. Johnson for the purpose of fostering the redevelopment, branding and quality of life of the Sweet Auburn District.

The vision of SOSA is to restore Auburn Avenue to its place of prominence as “the greatest street on the planet,” build the world’s greatest promenade linking the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site to the Center for Civil and Human Rights, and to transform the Sweet Auburn Viaduct into a world-class destination, attracting both tourists and residents.

SOSA promotes the idea that the Spirit that built Auburn Avenue is a universal spirit. It is the same spirit that ended apartheid in South Africa, bought down the Berlin Wall, was demonstrated in Tiananmen Square and resulted in the election of Barack Obama.

Anthony “Spark Plug” Thomas, publisher of People You Need to Know says, “We’re proud to partner with the Spirit of Sweet Auburn because the goal at PYNTK is to help business people make a BIG SPLASH in metro Atlanta by giving them world-class recognition, and I know of no other event where we have an opportunity to strengthen our brand on such a large scale. I believe any corporation or organization could benefit immensely from the exposure this event will generate. In addition, as a historian, I would love to see the restoration of Auburn Avenue to a place of prominence.”

He continues, “I’d like to commend Mr. Charles Johnson and his wonderful staff for doing another spectacular job in bringing people together on one of the most famous streets in America and I also want them to know that all of their hard work is greatly appreciated.”

PYNTK will be the Silver Sponsor of the Business & Technology Expo during this huge event.

Twitter Will Replace PYNTK Newsletters

Posted by myideas1 on 1st May 2009

2009OnlinePeople.jpgI sent out my final newsletter last week. Wow!

I decided to start using Twitter to send out updates and breaking information about company news and events at People You Need to Know, Inc.

One of the things I love about blogging is that it creates an automatic historical timeline for a company’s business growth and development. Anyway, I’m posting my very last newsletter below…

______________

Greetings,

I just wanted to give everyone a brief update regarding what’s going on at PYNTK.

We’ve already participated in several events this year and we’ll be showcasing your business at the Synergy Business Expo on tomorrow sponsored by the South Fulton Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Tavis Smiley Group. If you happen to be there, please stop by our booth to say hello.

We’d like to give a special thanks to the new people who have joined the Network this year. We look forward to working with you to help you strengthen your brand in metro Atlanta.

In addition, we’d like to give a hearty thanks to Dr. Danielle Wilson, creator of Kissable toothpaste for renewing her partnership for the 10th straight year and Dr. Mark Walker, Medical Director of Surgical Health Collective for renewing 11 years in a row with People You Need to Know. Thanks for putting your trust in our services for all these years! We’ve enjoyed working with you.

Spark Plug Radio continues to be a huge success in terms of getting messages out, which help people become healthier, wealthier and wiser.

On May 8th - 10th we’ll have our People You Need to Know tent at the Auburn Avenue Springfest where crowds of 500,000 - 700,000 are expected to attend. We are the Silver Sponsor of the Business & Technology Expo.

In addition to our events, podcast, radio, audio introductions, and digital videos, we are now using Twitter as a means to further promote the people in our Network. We’ve only been using it for a few weeks and have found it to be much more useful than Facebook in terms of doing business. Feel free to Follow Us On Twitter.

Instead of sending out newsletters, we’ll be using Twitter as our primary method of sending out updates regarding news and events.

I would definitely like to thank all of you who sent emails, letters and made phone calls to let us know how much you appreciate the hard work we put into the publication this year and how well it’s been working for you. It was our pleasure and we’re happy that you’re getting a great response. If you haven’t seen the book online yet…here’s the link.

Once again, we’d like to thank the people who are helping to make our tour possible. This year’s PYNTK Celebrity Tour is presented by The Community-Minded Attorney, Donald P. Edwards; Kevin Turner, President of Peak Level Advisors (”Your Personal Wealth Navigator”) Dr. Dexter Page, CEO & Founder of the Institute of Medical Ultrasound, and Shirley Osborne Vanderbilt, President of The Osborne CPA Firm, PC.

All four of our headliners will have special signage at each event throughout the year.

Jacqueline Benjamin-Thomas, VP of ideas

P.S. Just so that you are aware, we never give out any of your names as referrals unless it’s to a potential client.
