Note to Self: You Deserve a Break

Someone once said, a vacation is what you take when you cannot take what you have been taking any longer. When you live a very busy life, it is easy to find yourself out of fuel and feeling a little run-down. Anyway, you don’t always need a long vacation in order to renew your mind and give your brain some fresh air. Sometimes, you just need a day off.

Business owners often fool themselves into believing that their business cannot afford to lose them for even one day. Well, it can. Trust me, long after you’re gone, the world will continue to spin on its axis.

So…be kind to yourself. No one can do it better than you can. Put your feet up, relax your mind, get a massage, or go to a movie. For those of you who live in my neck of the woods, check out one of Georgia’s State Parks or mountains and enjoy the breathtaking view. Do something that will make you feel refreshed. Just make sure you add some FUN into your life.

Sometimes a day off can be your BEST reward for your overworked life.

I do want to explore Atlanta’s parks this summer.

You are hereby ordered to visit “Lake Lanier” or any other close body of water other than the Chattahoochee, and have yourself a good relax. You deserve it my friend, yes you do.

@Dori Thanks for the comment. Hope you’re doing the same. I must take my own advice more often. :-)

@Alicia Excellent! If you want to know about some of the sites, Tweet me @PYNTK, I can send you a list of some of the best places to visit with their websites. My husband and I have visited most of the mountains in Georgia so I feel that I’m somewhat of an authority when it comes to the beauty that abounds here.

@RE Ausetkmt The beloved Chattahoochee…As you know, it has some serious problems. Recently someone spotted an alligator to make matters worse. That’s one of the places my husband took me when we were dating. Seems like ages since I’ve been there. At that time it was beautiful, but I got tired of stepping over dog poo during our extended walks. Lucky for me, there’s a lake about 6 minutes away from where I live. I just have to drop everything I’m doing and take advantage of it more often. Thanks for dropping by. :-)

You are absolutely right!!!! I find that whenever I actually give myself a break the rewards last a long time. I think I need one now! LOL@

  7. jacqueline Says:

@JasonsLifeNotes Yes . . .a way to release stress. You gotta do that!

@Heidi You should definitely take one. We don’t want you to lose that wonderful personality. Your friends are lucky to have someone like you. :-)

I need a break and I don’t even work…sometimes college life is tough, lol. I’m taking the whole month of August off from researching for myself though…can’t wait!

Yes, it is really important to take a break. Breaks helps us to take our busy and confused minds out of the tension and resets us for harder jobs ahead.

I have to agree on this one. Busy people should take time to relax a little, because they do deserve a break. There’s nothing wrong with rewarding yourself for working hard every once in a while.

@Irtiza104 A busy and confused mind is what you’ll eventually have if you don’t drop it all and retreat. Thanks for your comment.

@Real Estate Postcards I just love the way “someone” described what “vacation” means, don’t you?

Taking a break is not an option for me, it’s a necessity. I make sure I take time off to relax. Great post.

I live in a resort community (at least to a girl who grew up in Brooklyn, it seems like a resort) yet i never use any of the amenities. Yesterday I went to the pool with my kids and I swear it felt like a vacation. But I’m not giving up on a week at a white sand/ blue water beach:)

  14. jacqueline Says:

@sHaE-sHaE: I hear you. As busy as YOU are, you’ve got to do it. Thanks for your comment.

@Denise Lee: The beach definitely works wonders but as you discovered, sometimes we can find our getaway in our own backyard. Thanks for stopping by. :-)
