The Lake
Life can be a roller coaster ride and it sometimes leaves me feeling a bit drained and uninspired. So whenever I need my spirit renewed, I can always depend on nature for a healing touch.
I don’t always have time to go to my favorite haunt, which is Callaway Gardens, so you can most likely find me relaxing at a little paradise only a few minutes away from my home.
I happened to be Tweeting a couple of my Twitter friends and promised them that I’d share some photos. I’m glad I made the promise because I enjoyed my lake experience even more. Usually it’s all about the peacefulness of the water, but this time I was able to really take in the surroundings.
This lake has a 3-mile paved trail and you just never know what you’ll encounter along the walk. My biggest surprise of the morning was a small turtle. It seemed to be waiting for me to stop by and take its photo. It reminded me to slow down and focus on the here and now.
As you can see, this wonderful place almost looks deserted. Fortunately for me, it’s like a private resort.

I took many photos, but I’m only sharing a few. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you were inspired by the beauty of nature. ![]()

@RE - A BadGalSays It was definitely a nice time. I went to the store, gathered up my snacks and relaxed. Then I took a little walk and discovered some beauty along the way. The squirrels get a little too friendly when you start feeding them. LOL (This is where I was when I talked to you on the phone…it was really windy that day.)
@Heidi - I knew you’d love this post. I’ve been reading your blog long enough to know a little bit about you.
Thanks for the compliments.

@Dori I’m glad you found the photos inspirational. When I was growing up, I was fortunate to have an opportunity to spend a lot of time enjoying the beautiful outdoors. So when I go to the lake, I’m right at home.
